Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not? But they remained silent. Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it. And He *said to them, Whose likeness and inscription is this? Sure, Jewish people encouraged forgiveness for each other, but they don't explicitly believe in forgiving their enemies as far as I know. And He took hold of him and healed him, and sent him away. But He knew what they were thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand, Get up and come forward! And he got up and came forward. Sighing deeply in His spirit, He *said, Why does this generation seek for a sign? Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you? Both the Pharisees and the scribes began to grumble, saying, This man receives sinners and eats with them., As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen, shouting:Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord;Peace in heaven and glory in the highest! The Pharisees of the New Testament are clearly cast as the bad guys, the perfect ideological and spiritual foils to Jesus and his followers. But some of the Pharisees said, Why do you do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?. On the same Sabbath, Jesus entered the synagogue and was confronted by a man with a paralyzed hand. countering the Pharisees on several occasions (Ps 8:2,110:1,Matt 21:16,22:44,Mark 12:36,14:62,Luke 20:42-43).
