Came dull and hard to sharpen and strap came off when swung around. but over all cool sword only problem was loose wrapping on handle note to ad a lot lighter than expected swings easy one handed it is a cool sword. It's 'sharp', but because it's so thick it's more like an axe-kinda sharp instead of sword. The massive Broadsword and the combat-ready Spartan Sword are ancient weapons elevated to modern perfection. I cut guards of the same shape as the originals, but slightly thicker, ground them to shape, gave them a basic finish, a solid edgbreak, and sandblasted them to to give them a flat grey matte finish. Simply bad, handle was made with no consideration to the blade , provides little control of weapon. I can't fault the blade at all. Were I a man, I might be able to swing this with some confidence. I have bought a lot from budk with never a problem in anyway. I repaired it best I could, but it's still lose so when you swing it, it knocks in ypur hand (and as from what I read mine is not the only handle issue,) the blade has some 'bubbles' here and there and knicks but it looks more battle worn so I like it. However this is one bad**s monster. Be prepared to use some heavy duty glue to keep it together. If your man ENOUGH!!! Also be careful of the plate at the end of the pommel, it can come off is one has too much vibration from hitting an object. The only downfall I think I can mention, as others have previously, The Handle of this particular sword is a bit lacking. Its better then nothing if a puma or bear comes up on me?lol But as adcertised and its awesome! Needs a Shieth tho. this sword is nice looks very real needs a little sharpining and way to heavy for a sword otherwis its nice worth buying, I have to say that everyone who said this thing was heavy was right! this for me(who is some one who doesn't mind modifying swords)was easy to fix. Fix the handle with steel strips and a welder and you'll have one hell of a waylay club if the blade ever dulls just turn it around and use the blunt edge. With that said i still love this sword!! Its only 30 bucks and as such it great, if this was an exact replica for 80-100 dollars id expect more, but it looks and feels like im in 300, and as a spartan at heart, this thing is beautiful. The leather on the handle is put on poorly, so itl push towards the bottom if you use it, but thats easily fixed with more leather and you dont need the leather anyway. This sword is nice, just keep it clean or it'll rust. I am more of a collector then a user. It's heavy, sharp and deadly right out of the box. It's really pointy and can go tho a lot of stuff, it ain't that sharp but it is easy to sharpen it though. Did not include sheath but that's to be expected with the price. The sword has an antique look to it and just holding it makes you feel like you are taking a jump back into history! This thing is beastly. I own one. leaving that semantic aside, the weapon itself is wicked to look at, even more wicked to hold, definitely would not recommend for actual usage though, the handle is far to weak to be hacking at things, even if the blade is razor sharp. ), this sword was the best ever i hand countless hours of fun with it.
